Just in case you have to take it in, just simply do a restore and your iPhone is as before, as if it never happened.

A: They won't give you a new one. I am pretty sure that they will give you the old model.

Q: If I upgrade my unlocked iPhone Software to 2.0 and it becomes locked. Can I then use software to unlock it?
I have an unlocked iPhone (1.1.4). I would like to download the 2.0 software update for it but am lead to believe this will lock the phone.
Will I be able to use the software I used to unlock it in the first place in order to use it again but with 2.0 software? I used iLiberty to unlock it.
A: I don't know about iLiberty because i have never used it as I unlocked my 1.1.4 iphone with ziPhone. What I did was restore to 1.1.4 (you can find the file on the internet and choose to restore to the file by holding option and clicking restore on a mac or by clicking shit and restore on windows) Then I restored my iPhone to the 1.2.0 (2.0) firmware the same way i did with the 1.1.4 firmware by telling itunes to use a file. Finally I downloaded Pwnage Tool 2.0 and then let it build custom firmware. I recommend you use the expert mode so that you can remove the custom logos and keep them as the standard apple ones. Once it has made the firmware and saved it to your desktop it will ask you if your iphone has ever been "pwned" before. Choose no and it will tell you how to put your iphone into DFU mode, once in there just use itunes again but restore to the custom firmware package which is now stored on your desktop.
Good Luck. I did it myself and the only problem i had was getting it into DFU mode but it just takes a couple of attempts. You will also notice Cydia on your iphone homescreen which is like the old installer.app but you can remove this if you are in expert mode. :)

Q: Is it possible for an iPhone software update in the future to make it capable of recording video?
Currently, the 2MP camera in the iPhone only takes still pictures. But my question is, is it even POSSIBLE for Apple to turn this camera into a video camera through an iTunes update? Or will video recording capabilities be reserved for a future version of the iPhone altogether?
A: I've been pondering the same thing. There's speculation of an update for this sometime early next year, and yes, it would be possible to enable this via update.

I have an iPod touch 2nd Generation, and it already has most of the features. The details of the 2.1 software said you have a customizable home screen. What is that?
Also, what does Microsoft Exchange and the updated keyboard do for you?
A: No, not really. It basically has the same features as 2.0 except for some bug fixes. Everything else is the same. Unless you use your iPod for work then you don't need MS Exchange. Updated keyboard, just has different languages support.

I bought an Iphone recently.
I connected it with my computer but Itunes 8 does not recognize it.

A: Don't bother. Get a G1. Just because it has a touch screen doesn't mean the iphone isn't one of the worst pieces of crap ever to be called an innovation. (Unless you want an ipod touch type of thing. Then you should go for the N800/N810. Multi touch is not as good as a built in web cam.)

A: If you plan to develop your own app for the iPhone using the iPhone SDK, visit the Apple Developers Center for the iPhone. If you're not a registered Apple developer, sign up and follow the instructions you receive in the email. You will need an Apple ID, but it's free to get one. You will also need a Mac with Leopard running on it.
Once you've downloaded the SDK (and read through the documentation), you're ready to code. Be warned -- it's a hefty 2GB download.
After you've developed your app, you will need to submit it to Apple for review. If you plan to give your app away for free, there is only a one time fee of $99 to Apple for the upkeep of the Apple app store on iTunes.
If you plan to charge for your app, you will have to pay the $99, plus Apple will absorb 30% of all of your sales.
Apple is also offering an Enterprise version of the app store hosting. Basically, this will give you a customized (and private) page within the app store. This will likely be similar to the featured artist pages in the current iTunes store.
If you are not a developer and are looking to download apps that were developed using the iPhone SDK onto your iPhone, this will have to wait until June. Apple will release a firmware 2.0 update that will add the Apple app store to your iPhone. Then you will be able to download free apps and purchase apps developed using the SDK. This will likely be similar to the iTunes Wifi store application on your iPhone.
