Q: Iphone battery?
What is so bad about iphone's battery and not being able to take it out, why do you need to take it out. I mean if it is rechargeable why do you need to take the battery out anyway?
But why would you need to replace it?

Like charge cycle wise, not time. Like I heard it was 300 charges then you need to send in for replacement? If it is 300, is it 300 FULL charges? As in your iPhone dies, and won't turn on because it has no battery? Or regardless any charges to the dock it counts?
A: I think it's much more like near a 1000 cycles before you need to replace
It really depends on the number of cycles you go thru and how old the battery is
waiting until the battery is low will allow you to minimize the number of cycles your battery is going thru.

Ok so with technology such as ipods and mobile phones, the best way to save and make your battery last longer is to only charge the device when the battery is fully dead.
However with the iphone, everytime it is synced to the computer, it gets charged automatically!....Does this mean that the battery gets ruined? and it won't last as long?

A: It doesn't matter. Actually letting your battery constantly drain until it's dead will shorten the battery's shelf life. You should charge your device nightly to experience the best battery life - and also change the dimmer settings.

A: It takes mine about a day and a half. I know, it seems like they don't last long. I think it is a good idea to get Applecare. I was seriously thinking about it, and I reccommend it.

A: No, the iPhone battery does not last "20 minutes"or "2-3 hours". I have had one now for over a month and i constantly use it everyday. That includes using speakerphone, internet, youtube,listening to music, etc. I charge it, at most, every night and have plenty of battery to use for the rest of the day. Basicallly, it lasts as long as you would need it too if you just charge it while you're sleeping.

A: You should only charge it for the time until your phone tell u that the battery is full. That should take only about 1.5/2 hours
*EDIT* Charging the battery for too long(over night) will kill the ions inside and reduce battery performance!
Q: anyone had problems with iphone battery?
I have had my iphone on charge all night and its now 2 oclock in the afternoon and its low, twice I have woken in the morning and its totally flat. Anyone had similar problems? Is the battery just poor or is it mine alone?
A: I had problems with mine too.. The battery life sucks... It seems everything that Apple makes has crappy battery life.. I bought another one as a back up battery from here

I just heard my friend said that it will broke after you charge it over 300 times, and then i just search on the Net. that it said battery replacement every 300 time of charging!

A: Yes, that's true. That's true of any lithium ion battery (like the guy above me stated). The downside to the iPhone is that you can't replace the battery yourself. If a customer comes into my store and needs a new battery for their phone, they give me $30, and I'll put then new battery in their phone.
If you need to replace an iPhone battery, you have to ship your iPhone to Apple, pay $79 for a battery, and $6.95 for shipping so they can replace it. So a replacement battery ends up costing $85.95. But wait, you say, what am I supposed to use for a phone while my iPhone is being repaired for God knows how long? Apple provides you with the service to rent one for the time being! So that's another $29 if you want to be able to use a phone while yours is in the shop.
Let's recap.
$79 + $6.95 + $29 = $114.95
It will cost $114.95 to replace an iPhone battery. Any other phone can get the battery replaced for $30. The iPhone is a ripoff.

A: No it cant be changed by yourself. You might have to let apple change it for you. YOu might just want to buy a new one. Have you used you phone alot. If so then its just getting old.

My iPhone's battery only lasts 13-15 hrs, is that a normal use rate?
A: Turn off wifi; I don't have an iphone but the ipod touch and the battery runs out SOO much quicker when you are connected to the internet. There should be a option in settings that lets you turn it off. Also DONT turn off it fully. Put it to sleep or whatever it is. When you turn it off properly it uses allot of battery to turn on again. Hopes that helps :)

I have been seeing some reports of lousy battery life on the iPhone 3g.
How bad is it really? Does it have enough juice to make a 10 hour plane trip?
A: no charged life is about 4-5 hours without a recharged

I was just wondering if having a lot of apps on the iPhone would somehow decrease performance or even battery life, even when they're not running. Like just having them on your phone.

A: i have the same issue
but instead of every hour, i have mine set to manual
which is good, unless the phone is being used for business purposes
you can also try to turn down the screen brightness
and set autolock to 1 minute, or whne you are not using your phone
to just press the sleep button on the top
and that will use less battery also
but if you do that, make sure your not going to use your phone a lot, because it takes more to turn the screen off and on as opposed to pressing it every 5 minutes

A: a good battery lasts 400 full recharges... where partial recharges count as actual partial,not full recharges.
Keep it charged, it should last several years. Applecare won't help after that time.
Should you get applecare? at 69 bucks it seems like a good investment.

If I forget to keep my phone plugged in at nite at 10pm it will be at 100 percent power and by the time I check it at 8am when I awake, it's at less than 10percent. Is this normal?
