Q: i have an lg cell phone and i need a new battery can i use any lg batery or do i have to but the one made for?
?????????????????? where is the best place to get a lg cell phone battery i have att and my phone is pretty old but i love it ??

A: You can find it on http://www.cellularaccessory.com or ebay. If you look on http://www.cellularaccessory.com you can find out the battery number. You can also see if there are any other phones that use the same battery. I found out that my phone uses a battery that is also used in a cheap Virgin Mobile phone that Walmart sells for less than $15, so I just bought the phone and used that battery rather than paying for battery + shipping which was a couple of dollars more.

Q: How can I extend the battery life on my LG cell phone?
Lately it seems to run out almost immediately after any call over 10 min. Should I just pay the $50 for a new one?

A: What you should do is what's called conditioning your battery. You need to charge it fully over night then let the battery drain completely until it dies. Do this a few times. When you charge your battery before it even needs to be charged, it in a way programs your battery to only use a certain percent of it's actually capability.

Q: Why does my new cell phone battery only charge to half power?
I purchased a new battery for my LG cell phone from Alltel two days ago. The battery will only charge to half power. I had not used this phone in a few months, but I never had this problem before. What is going on?

A: The first time you use a cellphone battery, you should discharge it completely... use it until the phone shuts off. Then fully charge the battery again and use it again until it fully depletes its charge. You need to do this a total of three times. This is how you get the best possible battery life. You might have just gotten a bad battery (it happens). Try and make an exchange, although many stores won't with batteries.

Q: LG 245 Cell Phone Battery?
I recently purchased an LG 245 cell phone, and noticed even on standby the charge of the battery will only last for 2 days... My old phone was an LG 3200 and observed that the battery would last for 5-6 days on standby... Is this because my 245 has more features and such?... What's the deal??

A: Could be the size of the battery, the number of features, and what you are doing with it. Are you using online features you weren't on the old phone? Also, don't charge it until the phone is almost dead. The more you charge it, the more the battery life goes down.

Q: LG Rumor- Cell Phone- Battery
I am thinking about getting a LG Rumor but i was wondering, how long does the battery last? about how many days can u use it until it dies?

A: I have the LG UX260, which is basically the same thing. The battery lasts longer than most phones i've had. With heavy use, it was still over half full. I fully charge it every night and it definitely will get you through at least 2 days unless you never put it down. The details state:Talk time is about 3 hours and 30 minutes, and standby time is up to 7 days.

Q: How can a Li-Ion cell phone battery be charged, independently of the cell phone?
The battery: LG Lithium Ion 3.7V 1000mAh LGIP A 1000E

A: You need a custom made charger specifically for that battery. Lithium Ion technology is quite frankly dangerous and will catch fire if mistreated. So there are temperature sensors and all sorts of protection circuits in the phone to prevent mishaps. The easiest way is to get another phone and put it in that to charge.

Q: What would be the best way to charge my new LG Verizon cell phone???
What method of charging insures that the cell phone battery maintains 100%( or close to it) charge capacity???...I got the LG Verizon Envy,I think it's called... Super cell phone... Awesome extras... Holds in the hand real nice when opened... Stereo speakers, keyboard pad, 2 mega pixel smart video cam ... Thanks

A: Well, the other two are right, but I think they're right for the wrong reasons. Your enV has a lithium ion battery in it. That means that the battery will remain at 100% capacity for quite some time regardless of how you treat the battery. The older nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries are what ruined the image for all rechargeable batteries. Nickel cadmium batteries had a "memory" that could develop in them and ruin the capacity of the battery early on. Lithium ion batteries don't suffer that fate. The way a lithium ion battery works is that it has a specific number of charge cycles in it. Cell phones usually have about 300 charge cycles. Every time you plug in your phone to charge, it uses up one of those cycles. So if you plug your phone in for 15 minutes, you just used a cycle. If you plug it in for 5 hours, you just used a cycle. So the best way to get the best life out of your battery is to make the best use of those individual charge cycles. If you let your battery die most of the way before you plug it in and let it charge all the way up before unplugging it, you will get the best life out of your battery.

Q: What should I do if my cell phone only works when its plugged into the charger (battery problem) LG VX5200?
Just recently started doing it, says battery is fully charged but when unplugged from charger it turns off and won't turn back on. Just wanted some ideas on how to fix it without getting a new battery

A: It's not holding a charge. Get a new battery or a new phone.

Q: what does it mean when your cell phone still says battery charging when its not plugged in ? its a LG X5550?
what could be the problem with this phone and can it be repaired?

A: it means you should take it back to the dealer where you bought it. But first, try turning it off and taking the battery out for a few minutes. Check and clean all the contacts and then put it back and fire her up one more time. It might just be a one-off that will clear and may not happen again, if you're lucky.

Q: What is wrong with my LG cell phone?
I have LG VX6000 cell phone. It's about a year and half old. All of a sudden out of no where, my phone keeps turning off by itself like someone just took the battery out. I can't turn it on by pressing the on button but if I press the phone diferent places with my hands or plyers, the phone turns on by itself. It keeps doing that everyday. Most of the time it doesn't even turn on. I have to press on different part of the phone for about 10 minutes for it to come on. Is it a battery problem or something mechanical? Battery's are always fully charged and that still happens. Don't know what's wrong with the phone.

A: Even though the battery is fully charged, it could be coming loose. That happened to one of my phones. It would shut off because the battery would loosen up. Once I got a new battery, it was fine. Try that first, if it doesn't work, then I have no idea! I get a new phone every 2 yrs anyways, they aren't made to last a lifetime ;)

Q: Is my cell phone battery dying, or is my phone being dumb?
I've had my phone since July of 2006, (it's an LG) and I have it on all day but usually I turn it off before I go to sleep unless I need to use the alarm. Anyways lately it's been fully charged but will go down to Battery Low in a day or two, and it never did this. It just told me the battery was about to die so I just charged it and after half and hour it says Charge Complete. Should replacing the battery resolve this or do you think it's just my cell phone?

A: it's your battery. You have had the phone for almost 2 years so it's about time that it goes. One thing that can help the new battery life is not leaving it on the charger for longer than 4 hours (as opposed to overnight). Most phones will shut down once fully charged, but some don't.
