Q: prepaid cell phone plans and phones?
hey, i'm just another teenage girl who wants a cellphone. i was thinking of getting a prepaid one, since it's hard to keep up with contracts and how they extend it and all there crazy things and such i can't keep up with. also since my mom can't exactly keep paying 30 or more each month it gets hard. and i think with a prepaid if you don't have minutes you just can't use it right? so its easier i'm assuming.... i want one with a good plan. maybe ten cents a text message, or a bit more-but i can't pay for everything and i don't think my mom would like paying alot for text messages. and i think i will text more than i talk, but i still like to talk. and one where if i don't use all my minutes it won't keep deducting if i don't use it, do you know what i mean? sometimes prepaid phone plans get looked down on, some people say you shouldn't get a prepaid phone and wanted to know what you think. i wanted something like a vcast but i don't think they have it as a prepaid. but basically what i want is a camera (recorder maybe?) something i can listen to music on, kind of like a mp3 player to in a way. and i want it to be able to text, speaker phone though it not nescessary, and all those good things that a teenager could want. so do you know any good pre-paid phones that come with basically all of this? thanks another thing is i only have about $40 to spend out of my pocket-though i can get a bit more money if i need it.

A: I skimmed through your question... and my advice is buy a prepaid cell phone with a plan... Dont use Go Phone, they take off a dollar plus ten cents a day and they just raised their texts to 15 cents like every other company... Try Virgin Mobile...

Q: Can you make a monthly plan cell phone a prepaid plan cell phone?
I want to get a new phone but it's not a prepaid phone and i want to roll over my minutes (AT&T). So is there a way that i can buy a monthly plan phone from at&t or t-mobile (that's unlocked) and make it prepaid. I don't have a monthly plan but the phone i want only works with a monthly plan with a 2yr contract.

A: Currently, I dont think that ATT offers a Prepaid plan that has Rollover... However you could buy ANY phone offered from ATT and use it as Prepaid.

Q: What prepaid cell phone plan is the best?
I might get a prepaid cell phone soon, and i'm wondering what company i should get. I plan to text at least some. Can you guys help me?

A: virgin mobile is really good. they have texting plans: 30 for $1.99, 200 for $4.99, 1000 for $10 and unlimited for $20. they have some nice phones as well. kajeet is also cheap. 5cents for texts or 200 for $4.99 and 10cents a minute. tmobile is good too but more expensive than virgin and kajeet.

Q: Which prepaid cell phone plan is the best and why?
I'm looking for a prepaid cell phone plan and i would talk on it alot. i am looking for one that has unlimited nights and weekends starting at a reasonable time. and i would like a free txting feature also...and nothing more then $60 a month. i have a boost prepaid right now but i don't really use it. i want to know if there are any better plans then boost before i start re-using my boost.

A: Verizon-They give you Unlimited Nights and Weekends, but then theres Cingular Go Phone.Their Plans,Give you unlimited nights and weekends to only certain plans on Cingular. And Also, there is no Company that Im aware of that gives you Free Texting. So you might as well go to Cingular Because their Minutes are cheaper than Verizon.I just purchased a 25$ Card for my account yesterday, and Every $100 you use filling your account, you get a $20.00 Bonus.Im looking at the Card now,and It says For Cingular: Unlimited Talk to all AT&T Wireless Customers(On A Select Plan) No Annual Contract or Credit Checks Rollover Balances Good for Talk Time,Texting,Games,Graphics, and More. Pay As you Go rewards give you a bonus for every 100$ you spend Refilling your Account.

Q: what is the best prepaid cell phone plan?
I am getting a prepaid cell phone, but I want to know who to trust and why. I want cards that give me from 500-1000 minutes under $60, and that do not cost $20 for 60 minutes. With the plan you tell me, do I have to buy anything else beside the phone and minutes, why?

A: u might be better off getting t-mobile flex pay plan, it has no contract so u can cancel anytime, it works like a regular plan put you just have to pay before your minutes start basically like prepaid, and u can get 600 minutes for 40 bucks plus free nights and weekends, and it requires no credit check and u can build ur credit by using it

Q: what is your current prepaid cell phone plan?
i'm trying to find out if there are better prepaid plans currently. i have one right now, but i think it's expnsive. so please list your current plan for me to compare. thanks.

A: hey! mine is cingular... there are 2 cingular offers.... 1. 0.25 per minute (national, calling or receiving) 0.05 per text msg (international, calling or receiving) minimum to add i think 15, anything under 25 you have 30 days to use, then you have 90 days for $25, and 365 days for $100. 2. 0.10 per minute (nat, call/r) PLUS 1 dollar per each DAY you USE it... it means... if you use your phone that day, you can use it like crazy, cause you pay the dollar for the right to use it that day, you pay nothing for days you dont use your phone (who comes up with these rules anyways lol) everything else, same as first plan

Q: Prepaid cell phone plans?
My niece got a cell phone for her birthday from her dad and it's under a prepaid cell phone plan. She asked me how that works and if the calls she receives are counted against her prepaid minutes. I don't know, because I don't have a prepaid cell phone plan. I just have a regular one. Can anyone here tell us? Also what does "top up" mean? She sees it on her cell phone with a date next to it. Thanks!

A: Yes all calls will be counted against her minutes. Since you mentioned "Top up" it sounds to me as if it's a virgin mobile phone (I have one myself) Top up means to add money to the account. Any more Q's email me OK?

Q: What is best Prepaid cell phone plan?
I'm looking to buy someone in my family a prepaid cell phone for X-mas. The criteria are below: 1. To be used in the San Francisco Bay Area. 2. Will use less than 100 minutes per month 3. Doesn't need to port an existing number. I looked at T-Mobile, which has 1000 minutes good for a year for $100. However, I know she doesn't get coverage at her current home from T-Mobile. What would be another good choice? Price is paramount. Prefer a plan where minutes don't expire quickly. Thanks! Neither of the 2 answers so far are very attractive. Both end up costing about as much as regular plans, or minutes expire way too soon. So far, the best option I've discovered is 7-Eleven's SpeakOut plan, which uses the Cingular network, and has 20 cents per minute, and a $1 a month charge. The minutes do not expire for at least a year also.

A: umm cingular has a plan with 10 cents per minute and 1 dollar every day u use ur fone and has free mobile to mobile. it also has a plan that each min. is 25 cents per minute and no daly access fee

Q: Prepaid cell phone plans help?
I'm a student looking to get a prepaid phone so I can talk and text more with my friends and family. But I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to plans and carriers and all, I've never had a phone of my own. Right now I'm either looking at a Tracfone or a Verizon Inpulse phone, but I'm open to others. I need something affordable for a student budget but functional enough to do what I need it to do. Does anyone have any info on what plans and phones they've had the best (or worst) experiences with? Specifically looking for: --Long distance calling/texting rates and limits (including price to receive?) --How easy it is to buy more minutes (in store or online?) --Are there any conditions or expirations I should watch out for? P.S. I'm in the southwest United States if that changes anything on plans. Thanks!

A: Here are some things to consider that will make the process of comparing prepaid plans an easy one: 1. Price per minute - prepaid cell phones minutes cost between 10 cents and 60 cents. That's a huge range. With some prepaid providers you buy a bucket of minutes, and the more you buy at one time, the less per minute cost. With others you put dollar amounts on your phone. With more money you add, your number of minutes per dollar will increase. Long story short, the more you spend, the cheaper each individual minute will be. 2. Expiring minutes -This is really important. Once your minutes expire, you will lose them. If you use your cell phone often, this probably won't be an issue. But, if you are buying a phone for emergency purposes or to use infrequently, you might want to spend more per minute for a later expiration date. Some carriers also make you add a certain amount of minutes or money per month in order to keep your account active. 3. Daily Fees -Some carriers charge a fee for each day your phone is used. This can be as high as $1.00 a day, but will come with lower per minute fees. If you use your phone infrequently this might be a good deal for you. If you use your phone for many days a month, you will be paying too much, especially if it's for short call. 4. Nights and weekends/ mobile to mobile -Some plans offer free nights and weekends and some offer free calls to others with the same carrier. Again, you might want to pay more per minute if you will be able to take advantage of these features. 5. Roaming charges - Some carriers have roaming charges and other have none. It is important to find out if there will be times that you will be roaming. If you will be roaming frequently, you will want to avoid a carrier that has roaming fees. Some are up to 70 cents per minute. 6. International calling -Some prepaid plans offer it and some do not. If you need international calling capabilities you will want to be sure that the carrier you select offers this service. Finding the best plan can be a daunting task. Be sure to sit down and write what your needs will be before shopping. If you know what your needs are for the above topics, you will be able to make an educated comparison of prepaid plans. Good luck...hope this helped.
